3. Characteristics of the Specialized Education

I. Development of a Command of Creative Communication

1. Fostering of Effective English Communication Skills

Three specialized subjects, the English Communicative Competency (ECC) course, the English Writing Competency (EWC) course, and the English Reading Competency (ERC) course, systematically proceed by emphasizing critical thinking, information technology literacy, and presentation skills in the four areas of English listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

2. Fostering of the Capacity to Apply Information

　In Saikyo Senior High School, all the specialized subjects are taught in a computer network environment that allows for the use of the computer network for real time processing of information for molding one’s capacity to express and form opinions.

Information Technology Environment

Students carry personal laptop computers to school (purchased on enrollment)
Installation of a wireless network (all classrooms have wireless LAN access)
All classrooms installed with video projectors for the display of computer and video material
Highly specialized information technology processing rooms (over 200 computer desktop units)

II. Fostering a Rich Sense of Economics

The ability to sense movements in global society and global economics is fostered in order to develop the capacity to put forward proposals and suggestions.

III. Pursuit of Continuous Education

　In order to acquire a high standard of academics in the regular subjects for the purpose of being able to pursue the career one has determined, two courses have been established to successfully allow the students to pursue higher education at university.
